Enjoy Local Produce
Example Menu from your Onboard Chef
Food onboard Splendour is a real talking point and highlight for our guests aboard Splendour.
Local produce features highly on the day’s set menu, both Chef and Skipper Ted undertook many site visits across the area to meet local suppliers and producers. We have included an example menu in our gallery below, though this is just a small sample – meals are frequently adapted to ensure the freshest seasonal cuisine. Guests that have joined us twice this season haven’t had the same meal unless specifically requested!
Breakfast – We start each morning with Porridge, Cereals, Toast and Scottish Preserves with a selection of fruits and yoghurt. Flowing Tea, Coffee and Fresh Orange Juice. A cooked breakfast follows to ensure you are ready for the day’s adventure.
Morning Coffee – Feeling peckish? Obviously, it’s elevenses! Tea and Coffee are served around 11 am with Chef’s freshly baked biscuits. Shortly followed with recipe requests.
Lunch – A light lunch of Soups, Fresh Salads or Open Sandwiches. Weather permitting Splendour’s BBQ will be in action for some alfresco dining on the forward deck.
Afternoon Tea – Returning from your afternoon ashore, Chef has been busily preparing afternoon tea, coffee and devilishly good cakes for your return home aboard Splendour.
Evening Meal – Pre-dinner drinks are available from the ships bar and wine is complimentary with your evening meal. Usually a two-course affair, dinner will often be the freshest Argyll Seafood, matured Argyll Hill Lamb or Highland Beef. A highlight for many is Chef’s famous Tarbert Seafood Buffet with the freshest Crab, Lobster, Langoustines and more! All from the pristine waters of our cruising grounds. Delicious desserts follow with Sticky Toffee Pudding and Butterscotch sauce a firm favourite. Carefully balancing the day’s menu chef will change the evening dessert with a hand-selected Scottish Cheeseboard.
Dietary Requirements – Before joining us aboard Splendour we ask each guest if they have any food allergies or special dietary requirements. We happily cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and many more. Please speak with with our team about any special dietary requirements or allergies you may have. We want to make sure you have a memorable experience, for all the right reasons as you cruise the Scottish islands!
